There hasn’t been a system update for a few months, so it’s time to catch up with everything we did in the past few months.

Yoast plugin issue fixed

We fixed an issue with Yoast plugin that created trouble with the theme customizer. The issue was found in our configuration and resolved.

Improved SSL renewal

In the past, blogs with more restrictive -htaccess rules had issues renewing SSL. This was now improved and even these blogs can get an automatic renewal.

Improved experience with blog transfer form

We improved the interface and experience of the blog transfer form. We also improved the internal processes to make it easier to manage.

Deindexed blogs are now disabled but not deleted

This was commonly requested in the past, so we’ve decided to start disabling deindexed blogs instead of immediately deleting them. This way, you have time to decide what you want to do with the blogs. The disabled blogs still count into your plan limit.

Other fixes

  • We removed and added new themes to the install list.
  • We significantly increased the number of servers in the past few months, plus adding Dreamhost as one of our large providers.
  • We moved from Intercom to HelpScout which improved our internal support processes.
  • A ton of improvements and fixes to our backend processes.

The beginning of a big infrastructure update

At the start of this year, we have started developing a new system for our infrastructure. Because the infrastructure is large it will take until the end of the year to finish. This update will give us better support for more providers, even allowing us to add small providers in non-English speaking countries.

Stay tuned!
